The Solco Pyroelec ET-16 is an electronic thermostat that is specially designed to be the most efficient performing electrical heating system for pathways, steps, and ramps.It prevents ice formation on the areas mentioned. It also performs well for roof heating systems to prevent ice clogging of drainage system elements.
The controller always maintains the temperature with an external sensor probe. If the ambient temperature runs within the specified setting range, the controller switches a built-in relay (16A, 250V) and the heating system functions.
If the temperature falls outside the specified range, the relay contacts come apart and the heating function ceases. For example, ifeither the temperature is higher than +5°C or it is lower than -15°C, the device blocks the heating function as the ice formation hardly occurs at temperatures of above +5°C and below -15°C.
The plastic enclosure is designed and manufactured to meet all the requirements for heat tracing cable systems even in hazardous locations such as in the petrochemical industry.
The enclosure body and cover are made of fibreglass reinforced polyamide for ultimate thermal endurance and mechanical strength. Conductive carbon black has been added to reduce surface resistivity to less than 10 ohm·cm.
